In the championship game, Duxbury lost to an impressive Coyle-Cassidy team 55-49.  Teagan Curran led the Dragons in scoring finishing with 21 pts and 12 rbs. Sam Brennan added 7 pts and 15 rbs. Sydney Ropes  chipped in with 9 pts.

In the consolation game, NDA defeated Marshfield 46-43.

Duxbury defeated Marshfield in the first game with three players in double figures, Teagan Curran (15), Sam Brennan (12, 14 rbs) on her birthday, and Sam Borgeson (10).

In the second game, Coyle-Cassidy beat NDA-Hingham 56-36. Duxbury will play Coyle-Cassidy in the championship.

Duxbury (2-1) lost to a tough Scituate team. The Dragons were led by captains Teagan Curran (16) and Sophie Thompson (9). Senior Mel Lucier scored her first Varsity basket (2).

Silver Lake 39

Duxbury  (2-0) defeated Silver Lake behind sophomore Sydney Ropes' 20 points (6 three pointers) in her first Varsity start.  Senior captain Sam Borjeson added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

In a back and forth battle, Duxbury defeated Hanover 50-48 with a clutch 3 pointer with 3.8 seconds left by captain Teagan Curran  (27 points).  Captain Sophie Thompson (8 points) made huge defensive plays down the stretch that led to the opportunity for the game winner.

2018-2019 Preseason Meeting

ATTENTION:

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing basketball this winter on Wednesday, October 31st right after school in the DHS gym.

In addition, please go to the DHS Athletics website on the winter registration page and complete the necessary information to be ready for the first day of Basketball on Monday, November 26th.

The coaching staff is excited to get back in the gym for another great season!

MIAA Division 2 South First Round

Duxbury 50 - Scituate 47

Duxbury defeated Scituate in the Division 2 South first round led by Alli Cavallo with 18 points. Sophie Thompson and Teagan Curran both added 9 points. Duxbury will travel down to Nauset in the next round.

Norwell Invitational Tournament

Duxbury 62 - Newton North 43

Duxbury  (14-7) defeated Newton North in the consolation game of the Norwell Invitational Tournament.  Teagan Curran  scored a career high 23 points, all tournament team selection Alli Cavallo had 18 points and Mel Cheal scored her first Varsity basket.

Duxbury 74 - Oliver Ames 77 (2OT)

Duxbury  (13-7) lost in double OT in a great high school game to a well coached Oliver Ames team in the first round of the Norwell Invitational Tournament. Alli Cavallo finished with a career high 30 points and Sam Brennan added 10 points and 12 rebounds. Sophie Thompson chipped in with 10 points off the bench.

Duxbury  (13-6, 12-3 PL) lost a Non-league home game against Rockland. Nicole Callander led the Dragons with 7 points. Sam Brennan had a solid night with 6 points, 9 rebounds and Jamie Horgan added 5 with a great effort on defense.

Patriot League girls basketball 2/6/2018

Duxbury 42 - Quincy 34

Duxbury (11-4, 10-2 PL) qualified for the state tournament with the home win over Quincy. Junior Sam Borjeson played a terrific game on both ends limiting Quincy's point guard while scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Classmate Caroline Curley dominated on the defensive end and had a couple key baskets in the second half.

Duxbury won in overtime at Hingham behind Senior captains Alli Cavallo  (21) and Nicole Callander  (17). Freshman Teagan Curran (15) hit 2 free throws to send the game to overtime. Dragons outscored Hingham 8-3 in OT.

Duxbury (8-3, 7-2 PL) won in overtime over Plymouth North led by senior captain Nicole Callander's double-double of 20 points and 20 rebounds.  Senior captain Alli Cavallo added 15 points.

Duxbury  (7-3, 6-2 PL) defeated Hingham behind senior captains Alli Cavallo (game high 22 points) and Nicole Callander  (11 points, 10 rebounds).  Sophomore Caeliana Fitzpatrick was a huge spark off the bench with all her 6 points in the second quarter.
