Duxbury lost to Norwell 52-34 in the consolation game of the Rockland Holiday Tournament. Duxbury was led by Skye Cerow with 8 points and double digit rebounds. Ava Welch chipped in with 6 points. Lyla Peters (6 pts) was named to the tournament team.

Duxbury lost to a tough well-coached team 55-40 on the first day of the Rockland Holiday Tournament. The Dragons were led in scoring by Lyla Peters (13), Amanda Donovan (12), and Skye Cerow (8). Duxbury will take on Norwell on Thursday in the consolation game.

Freshman Hailey Flynn scored 10 points in the loss at Marshfield.  Reagan Widdop (1) and Katelyn Donovan (2) scored their first Varsity points.

Duxbury won their home opener against a gritty Silver Lake team 47-41. Sophomore Lyla Peters scored a game high 24 points (hitting 6 threes). Skye Cerow added 8 points with a bunch of rebounds. Freshman Ella Fitzpatrick chipped in with 6 points including a big 3 in the 4th qtr.

North Quincy  47

Duxbury pulled out a win on the road at North Quincy in overtime 50-47. Lyla Peters led the Dragons with 16 points with a big 3 and free throw in overtime.  Kendall Quinn was very active on both ends of the floor scoring 9 points and captain Amanda Donovan chipped in with 8 points.

MIAA Div 2 Preliminary Girls Basketball 3/1/2022

Duxbury 55

Middleboro 48

Duxbury (31) defeated Middleboro (34) in the Preliminary Round of the 2022 MIAA Girls' Basketball Div 2 State Tournament.  Duxbury was led by Molly Donovan who finished with a game high 24 points. Skye Cerow had a fabulous game on the boards and added 14 points. Lucy Laviolette provided her normal tough defensive play on Middleboro's guards and chipped in with 8 points. Duxbury will now travel to Medfield (2) for a Round of 32 match-up on Friday.

Duxbury fought hard against the tough North Quincy team falling 53-52 in the last regular season game. Sophomore Molly Donovan scored 26 points and Junior Lucy Laviolette played terrific defense and added 10 points.

Duxbury defeated Cape Cod Academy 61-36 and officially secured a spot in the Div 2 State tournament now with an 11-8 record. The Dragons were led by Molly Donovan's 21 points. Sophomore Izzy Maser chipped in with her first Varsity 4 points.

Duxbury lost at home to Hingham 53-51 in a terrific high school basketball game. Duxbury was led by Molly Donovan who scored a game high 27 points, hitting six 3's. Lyla Peters added 14 points.

Duxbury defeated Silver Lake 49-39 on Senior Night.  Balanced scoring for the Dragons as Freshman Lyla Peters led the team in scoring 14, Molly Donovan scored 10, and Lucy Laviolette and Amanda Donovan each had 8 points.

Duxbury lost on the road to a tough Whitman-Hanson team 44-25. Duxbury played hard all night and had contributions from each player. Molly Donovan led the scoring finishing with 10 points.

Duxbury had a great team effort to defeat Pembroke at home 47-40. Molly Donovan went 9 for 12 from the free throw line scoring a total of 18 points in the win. Amanda Donovan added 11 and Lucy Laviolette hit 3 threes for 9 points. Olivia Kyriakides hit big shots in the second half finishing with 6 points.

Duxbury defeated Hanover in overtime 38-34. Freshman Lyla Peters hit 3 big three pointers in the 4th quarter and Amanda Donovan scored 6 of her 10 points in overtime from the free throw line (6 for 8) to secure the win.

Duxbury lost on the road to a sharp shooting Hingham squad 62-43. Junior captain Lucy Laviolette played an aggressive game at both ends leading the Dragons in scoring 17 points, playing tough D, and taking a few charges.
